Are all my favorite skaters going to bail on me? First Jeff retires, then Chris takes the season off, and the statistics are hopelessly against his coming back. Now Stephane's out of his Grand Prixs, he's already been replaced in France, and there's going to be a press conference Thursday with a big announcement. This isn't looking very good at all.
And meanwhile IceNetwork emailed me this morning to inform me my subscription would be automatically renewed unless I emailed someone. The sad thing is, that nasty little trick just might work; I wasn't planning to actively renew, but looking at the schedule, I just might let it be and hope Nancy's commentary proves useful for once. Maybe if Jeff and Chris announced their engagement, that would cheer me up. But probably not.
Not entirely satisfied with this one, but it is my first venture using special effects.
Title: A New Kind of Mid-Life Crisis
Part: 6: The Usefulness of Meetings
(Prologue, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
Fandom: The Cutting Edge/Jane Austen(sort of)
Characters: Characters channeling Mr. Bennett, Elizabeth, and Marianne
Musical Accompaniment: Michelle's exhibition: Nightwish-Amaranth
Natalia and Sergei's long program: Angels of Venice-Lionheart
Warning: Magical messes
Note: This started out as a simple straightforward sequel to The Cutting Edge, but I waited too long to start it and it went a little...awry.
( Did you think your life would not be horribly inconvenienced? )
Dad just had two teeth pulled yesterday. He's been back to the dentist since, and now he's eating again. Meanwhile, one of the cats made a mess on the bathroom rug this morning that when I first saw it, I thought one of them was sick. Though they certainly have lost no energy; they've turned more rowdy again this past week and are still in the process of chewing a shoebox I happen to have to pieces. They were particularly at that Monday.
After getting only one call last week which failed to send me anywhere to canvass last weekend, and waiting this entire week, got two calls within an hour of each other, which apparently were done separately of each other, trying to schedule me for this weekend. I am now canvassing Sunday at five, not at all my preferred time, but it'll be out of campaign headquarters this time(I thought all work was precinct-based from here on in), and hopefully I'll meet with the young woman I worked with most of the summer; I know her to be competent. She seems to be the only person in this corner of the Democratic campaign who is!
I have officially mailed off enough job applications now that the woman who works at the closest post office is starting to remember who I am. And I just addressed another envelope to British Columbia, so that'll be another trip to the post office tomorrow.
We've belled the cats. They have green and pink collars with bells on them, and rhinestones decorations. We are His Highness' cats at Kew. Pray tell us, sir, whose cat are you?
Saw The Duchess last weekend. Several of the warnings we had been given held true, ( which meant I was stunned all the more when... ) Probably much better than most of the movies out right now.

( Guess Who's Coming to Edinburgh? )
So it takes me three days to import all the footage for a less-than-four-minute montage in Windows Movie Maker, and then on the third day I end up doing all the actual montage-making? Ah well, time to test this embed thing again. I may also end up instructing mom on embedding at some point. Shen & Zhao, ladies and gentlemen.
